PalmaVela

From May 3rd to 5th, we kicked off this year’s sailing season with the PalmaVela regatta in Mallorca, following our successful participation in the Palma International Boat Show.

Our adventure began on Thursday when the crew, along with family and friends, gathered to get acquainted and settle into their roles on the boat. We had a diverse group on board, consisting of sailing newcomers, leisure sailors, and seasoned professionals. Despite encountering unexpected 25-knot winds that day, we were well-prepared for the next three days of racing. Our motto for the event was, “Be competitive, but prioritize the safety of the crew and ensure nothing breaks,” and we adhered to it faithfully. Competing in the “Spirit of Tradition” category, we proved to be strong contenders.

We started with significant wind, fine-tuning the sails to maximize Anima’s capacity and speed. Thanks to the teamwork and expertise of the crew, we enjoyed a successful first regatta of the season.

At the end of the three days, we asked everyone about their takeaways from the race. The unanimous response was the thrill of racing and the sense of friendship that developed so quickly among us.
